The reading specifies that there are three methods to prevent the spread of toad which threaten native animals. However, the professor casts doubt on these methods and specifies that the mentioned method is easy and because of that are unsuccessful.
First, the reading states that by building a national fence we can prevent the advance of the toad since two built fence was used in the past. Nevertheless, the speaker explains that it is true that the fence will stop the movement of tods but there are many river that can carry them to another environment. Therefore, tode will move to another place by water road and establish their population in there.
Second, based on the passage, it is possibe to catch toads by simple traps or by using our hands. So, since tods habitat is only water, the Australian government can easily collect and destromy them. In contrast, the professor specifies that there are species of native frog in Australia which is in danger to extinction which can be capture by these traps. Therefore, it sucess in capturing the toads but also it can damage to domestic animals like frogs too.
Third, the author asserts that researcher developed a virus to control the toad from reproduction and maturing. other animals can be inffected by this viruse but It will not harm most of the infeceted animal. On the contrary, the lecturer says that the mentioned viruse will infected many animal such as reptile which many scientis will take this infected reptile to United state to study them. This virus will reach at the habitat of animals and atack them. It can animilated plenty of especific aniamls which will damage the total ecosystem.
