The reading specifies that there are three methods to prevent the spread of toad which threaten native animals. However, the professor casts doubt on these methodse and specifies that the mentioned method are easy and because of that are unsuccessful.
First, the reading states that by building an national fence we can prevent the advance of toads since two fence was used in the past. Nevertheless, the speaker explains that it is true that fence will stop the movement of tods but there are many river that can carry toads to another environment. Therefore, toads will move to another place with water road and after that establish its population in there.
Second, based on the passage, it is possible to catch toads by simple traps or by using our hands. So, since toads habitat is only water, the Australian government can easily collect and destroy them. In contrast, the professor specifies that there are species such as native frogs in Australia which are in danger of extinction and can be capture by these traps. Therefore, valunteers can be sucessed in capturing the toads but it can damage domestic animals like frogs.
Third, the author asserts that researcher developed a virus to control the toads from reproduction and maturing which other animals can be inffected by this viruse but It will not harm most of the infeceted animal. On the contrary, the lecturer says that the mentioned viruse will infected many animal such as reptile which many scientists will take these infected reptile to United state to study them. This virus will reach at the habitat of animals and atack them. The virus can animilated plenty of especific aniamls and damage the total ecosystem.
