Both the reading passage and the lecture discuss the causes of the Little Ice Age, a period of unusually cold temperatures in many parts of the world that last from 1350 to 1900 C.E. The article argues the many possible factors that related to this low temperature. However, the professor counters these by telling. Unfortunately, the information is little to date, and there are new scientific data related to that Ice Age causes.
First, the reading passage claims the distruption of the ocean that accured becuse of the glaciers were melted after a period of warming. And this melting glaciers spread out to the gulf stream and led to the decrease the temperature of the weather. Conversely, the professor counters this point by telling even that is true but the cooling effect of the melting glaciers reached Europe and another part such as NewZealand. Even though, Europe affected by this disruption but the Newzeeland did not.
Second, the reading states the eruption of the volcano is the other courses by sending the clouds of a high content of dust and sulfur gas into the atmosphere. And these clouds block some of the sunlight from reaching the earth, so the temperature got low. The professor casts doubt on this point by explaining that the spread out of the clouds over a large area above even it is right but not strong enough to cool the weather. Besides, the snow should be change to the grey because this high amount of the sulfur from the volcanic activity and nothing reported that ever occurs.
Third, the passage mentions the greenhouse gas also anther causes because the CO2 can trape the heat. And the trees at that time were so high because low human populations so they can absorb theCO2. The speaker avers that by saying the forest was not long enough to take the CO2 from the weather. Because even though the populations of the human was low but they could be cutting a large area of the forest and using for crop and agriculture.
