TPO 27 The Little Ice Age

The happening of the Little Ice age is being discuss in both argument and the lecture, the writer provides some evidences about the reason what caused the Ice age. However, the lecturer hold against the view from reading passage because the information in it is outdated.

First of all, the lecturer points out although disruption of the Gulf Stream might be the impact the cold weather, but it is only effect the specific place. The theory in the argument can’t explain why there is still influence where the Gulf Stream can not effect.

Secondly, in the volcano theory, it is true that if there is enough dust which is create from the eruption can effect the weather. When the corruption begins, the area must encounter a huge impact in visual perspective. Nonetheless, it is strange that no report is ever existed from this kind of event. So the evidence is not strong enough to convince this theory is accurate.

Last, the last issue mention in the article is human population. Low population of human cause the growth of tree which can absorb carbon dioxide in the air to make temperature lower. However, the speaker provides the thought that there is no enough time for trees to absorb carbon dioxide to make the huge impact. And in fact human population is growing, and a lot of trees was cut down for the expansion of farm land, so the influence of the tree is not the reason why there is a Little Ice Age.
