TPO-29 - Integrated Writing Task Large numbers of dinosaur fossils have been discovered in deposits on Alaska's North Slope, a region that today experiences an extremely cold, arctic climate. One hundred million years ago, when those dinosaurs were alive,

The reading and the speaker argues about the Edmontosaurs migration in very contrast ways.

Firstly, reading passage says that it might be migrated to warmer area in order to get the food because during the winter session plants availability are very less due severe cold, that reason it might be migrated to the warmer area. But the speaker contrasts this point by saying that 100 millions years before Alaska warmer then today, so during the summer time there may be plenty of plants there, and even that plant which died during the winter session that can be used to eat on warmer time. So there is need of migrating one place to other place.

Secondly, reading passage states that fossils records shows that they lives along with the Caribou and buffalo, it shows that they had migrated from Artic region and further the skeleton of Edmontosaurus was found in this place. Again, the lecture refutes this point by stating that it might be there because of need of extra production from the predator, she gives one example for that the yolk used to live with herds. It does not mean they have migrated, it is all about protection from enemies.

Thirdly, reading passage explains that it has very good musculature to travel long distance because it used to walk at the speed of 40 kilometres per hour, so it possible that they can travel more than six week and can continue up to 1600 KM. Still, speaker opposes this point by stating that, when the small herd animals are not possible to crass such great distance how the big giant animal can walk this much distance.

To sum up, reading says that this animal might have migrated because for the forage, it they found the skeleton of it and it had the capability of crossing more thousands of kilometres but speaker contrast these all points by some evidences.
