TPO 31 :quackers

In this set of materials, the article and the lecturer are discussing the topic of the cause of the quackers. However, the lecturer disagrees with the article. She thinks that the theorems mentioned in the article are questionable, offering several reasons to opposite the article.

The first reason is associated with the place that the ocra whales live. Although the article states that the ocras make the noise to attract male and the sound is similar to quackers. However, the lecturer argues that the ocras live near the surface of the ocean and the submarines can detect the ocras if the sound is caused by ocras.

Second, the lecturer refutes the article by mentioning the disappearance of the sounds. Though the article claims that the sounds were caused by giant squids which lived deep in the ocean and were hard to be detected because of their body structure, the lecturer points that the sounds have stopped in 1980 for a decade and appeared again. Since the giant squids live continually, the article's statement is not convincing.

Third, the article says that the sounds were caused by another submarine which was designed undetected. The lecturer disagrees with this idea and points that the sounds changed direction quickly and it was impossible for submarine to do that. The lecturer also mentions that the sound of the submarine’s engine is different to the quackers and the engine cannot be built that silence.
