In the set of the materials, the article states that the Venus condition is not compatible with a permanent exist of human on it and provides some reasons to support. However, the professor, in the lecture, explains that although maintaining of human on the Venus is not without challenge, It is completely possible and refutes each of the author's reasons.
First, the reading claims that the pressure of the Venus' surface is extremely high and it can crush the people who land on this planet. Nonetheless, the professor argues that human can produce balloon station and live above the Venus' ground. In addition, he says that in the 15 kilometers above the surface, Venus has same pressure of the earth. Therefore, everyone can easily live in that balloon station.
Second, the reading passage says that because there are no water and oxygen in the Venus, human have to transfer them from the earth and this regular transportation is impractical. The professor counters this point by stating that the Venus' atmosphere contains carbon dioxide and some other chemical material, these chemicals allow the human to produce water and oxygen in the Venus. Thus, importing water and oxygen from earth to Venus is unnecessary.
Third, the reading makes the argumentation that due to the thick cloud in the Venus atmosphere, the most of sunlight radiation reflected and people can't provide enough electricity for their apparatus through solar power cells. The professor refutes this claim by pointing out that if the human locates their station above this thick cloud, they will get more sunlight even than the earth surface because the solar cells can use both direct sunlight and its reflection from thick clouds. Hence, a human can provide their electricity very easily.
