TPO 40: surface of the venus is not possible habitant for human

Based on the given materials, the lecture as well as the article discusses possibilities of maintaining human presence on Venus. Although, life existence on Mars or Moon has seemed plausible, the author states that sustenance on Venus is impossible, and there are several viable reasons regarding this conclusion. That being said, the lecturer provides an effective idea to remove the barriers - installing a permanent station floating 50 kilometers above the surface of Venus, like a balloon.
Initially, the author says that atmospheric pressure at Venus, which is much more than Earth's one, prevent all spacecrafts from landing on Venus surface. However, the lecturer explains that according to physics facts, the pressure in Venus's surface is more than pressure in Venus's atmosphere, which approximately equals to pressure in earth. Thus, station in the atmosphere provides a sufficient condition for spacecrafts to land, and removes the possibility of being crushed.
Second, the writer proclaims that Venus's atmosphere does not contain much oxygen and water vapor, which are vital for life. In addition, importing these two indispensable components cannot be done in large scales. Yet again, the speaker underscores that available components in the atmosphere can be used for producing water and oxygen via chemical processes. If this permanent station establishes, it would absorb required components, and makes huge amounts of water vapor and oxygen, which leads to remove the demands for importing these two substances.
The final point of contention between the reading and the listening passage is sunlight reflections. The author thinks that only 40 percent of the sunlight can cross the thick clouds, and the density of carbon dioxide below these clouds prevent any solar power cells from generating electricity power for any machine. On the other hand, the speaker explains that clouds in 50 kilometers above the surface are not as thick as bellower ones, which helps significant amounts of sunlight get through the clouds. Thus, the station can use not only the crossed sunlight but also, the reflected sunlight from below for generating power.
