The article states that the archeologists believe that the coin which is found in North America which comes from European is not a genuine piece of historical evidence but a historical fake, and it provides three reasons for support. However, the professor claims that the archeologists think that the coin discussed in the reading is a genuine piece, and he refutes each author's reasons.

First, the reading asserts that the great distance from the place where the coin was discovered far from the sites documenting in a North America. The lecture counters this point by saying the great distance is not a big deal. In fact, there are other objects found far away not only the coin because the native of North America traveled a great distance. They were interesting to obtain the object from a distance. As a result, native North America traveled and brought these coin.

Second, the reading points out that no other coin found in the Canadian sites that inhabitant by Norse. The professor contradicts this idea by telling that this reason does not necessarily prove the idea. Indeed, the native of North America does not stay there permanently; instead, they are back to European and took the coin with them.

Third, the reading explains that the Nores already understood that there is no benefit to take the silver coin because it is valued just in European, not in North America. However, the professor claims that it is correct that the coin is not viewed as money there, but the people of the North America value this coin as an attractive and appealing thing. Indeed, they used this coin in manufacturing jewelry and necklaces and used it to rade with them.
