the article states that agnostics were a group of marine animals that extincted about four hundred fifty years ago and their fossils were found. there are several theories about how agnostics may have lived. However, the professor refutes each of the author's reasons.

First, the reading explains that they were small free-swimming predators. The professor refutes that point by stating that predators living in open oceans and have got big eyes. However, the agnostics were blind and rudimentary so they were not predators as well as they have not found any evidence in fossils. and they were using sense to find the hunt.

Second, the article claims that they may have dwelled on the seafloor and feeding their selves by dead organisms and bacterias. However, the professor contends that they were not living on the seafloor, if they were living on the seafloor they must not be fast and be able to travel so far. However, they were fast. seafloor living animals live in a small area. However, the agnostics were living in a large geographic area.

Third, the article avers that the agnostics were parasites. The professor opposes this point by saying that the population of parasites is small. However, the agnostics population was large so they were not parasites.
