Universities have different needs, yet their budget is limited, and it's not possible to fulfill every need. There is a great concern about how to spend budget and invest in which area to get the best result. Although some people believe it's better to investigate in keeping the faculties satisfied, another group of people argue that the infrastructure is more important. I honestly think each group have the right to be concerned about both faculty's satisfaction and also infrastructure. However, I think taking care about infrastructure is more essential. Now in the following article, I try to vindicate my standpoint.
To begin with, to satisfy everybody is not possible in this world. A university consists of many different faculties, and each faculty has several departments. To satisfy each of them is extremely difficult especially with a limited annual budget. Besides, investigation into infrastructure and physical plant is a very important part of faculties' satisfaction. I suppose faculties would be happy having a better infrastructure in comparison to having buildings that are old, yet taking care about satisfaction doesn’t bring better infrastructure.
Additionally, a university has a great population, and this population causes some destruction. It's crystal clear that a building with lots of people going in and out needs more attention in comparison to an architecture with few people in it. Thus each building in a university needs repair about every 5 or 10 years, and it's crucial to fix the buildings of faculties.
Last but not the least, everything in this world is changing very quickly, and keeping up with the technology needs investigation in infrastructure. Even if buildings aren't old and don't need repair, it's important to equip them with new and modern equipment. It's interesting to point that, again equipping infrastructure with modern technology plays a major role in satisfaction of faculties. people need new buildings and infrastructure not to feel they're behind technology.
To make the long story short, not only is essential to keep faculties satisfied but also to take care about the infrastructure in universities. However, by looking more deeply toward the issue, albeit investigation in infrastructure is a part of faculties' satisfaction, the vice versa is not correct. Hardly are faculties satisfied with limited budget. And a crowded building needs lots of care and repair. Finally, since keeping up with technology in infrastructure needs a huge investigation, I conclude it's more advantageous to investigate in infrastructure.
