TPO-46 - Integrated Writing Task
In this set materials, the reading passage state that in the modern era, the best way for recording data from the patient is electronic records. On the other hand, the listening section brings into the question the reading points by providing different reasons ( and examples).
First of all, the reading passage indicates that saving electronic database has many advantages such as saving money on storing and transferring media records. In contrast, the lecturer opposes this view by mentioning that when doctors want to record data from the patients by the electronic device, also they need to save previous data for the emergency situation. Therefore, they have to pay some money for saving paper base data.
Secondly, the reading argues that some medical errors stem from doctors' handwriting; hence, when doctors use the electronic device this kind of error will be eliminated. Conversely, what the lecturer believes is different. She points that most doctor still use pen and paper for writing, and they use some office staff to change paper base data to the electronic base. Thus, most staff maybe cannot read the doctors' handwriting, so they save error data and make mistakes.
Finally, according to the reading, with the electronic date based, all of the data from the patient are enable and doctors can use it easily. However, the speaker believes that base on USA lows, using patient records is subjected to privacy laws; therefore, when some doctor want to use them need to allowing from patient and low. Also, saving the medical data need to follow the strict rule, and it is the hard situation that people do not tend to follow it.
