TPO 48 Integrated writing essay

The reading passage proposes three solutions to save frog population from declining whereas according to the professor, none of them are practical.

In the reading passage, the author claims that farmers should be prohibited to use harmful pesticides in areas close to frog population. However, the professor in the lecture challenges that this method is not economically practical. To be specific, farmers rely on the pesticides to decrease the loss of crops and keep competitive in the market, so such laws are likely to lose more crops and reduce the yield.

Moreover, the lecturer objects to the second proposal that researchers have discovered a method to prevent frogs from infecting by a fetal fungus. She points out that it is extremely hard to capture each individual frog and treat them. Besides, this method cannot stop the fungus onto next generation, which means researchers have to repeat the process again and again. It is incredibly expensive.

Finally, the professor argues that the true reason that threatens the frogs habitats is the global warming rather than the human activities. Based on the fact that global warming has contributed to the disappearance of many water and wetlands, forbidding humans from using water and wetlands cannot reverse the situation of the loss of frogs habitats.
