In view of the reading, the author enumerates the elephants as the fascinating animal by pointing out 3 reasons of support. Finding the statements arguable, the lecturer casts doubt on the claim made by the article and presents a piece of evidence in contrary.
At first, the author argues that their ability to expect the end of their lives by separating from their herds and go alone through the certain place called "elephant graveyards". It has been noted that the bones of elderly elephant found near this places. Conversely, the lecturer brings up the idea that finding their bone near these areas not a logical reason to conclude a graveyard for them. As a matter of fact, the teeth of old elephants got week and they tried to found softer vegetation. This kind of vegetation could be found near the water and this is a real reason!
In addition, the reading passage holds the view that the elephants are the only animal which can paint by their trunks and there are some paints which show the ability of them to draw a picture of flower or other elephants. On the other hand, the lecturer disputes this idea by clarifying the fact that so sensitive is the ear of the elephant that can help them the ability to learn using certain pattern after training. This is not produce of the art! it is just using some pattern.
Finally, the author asserts the fear sense of elephants when they faced with the misses as the last point for supporting the elephant as a captivating creature on the Earth. The lecturer, though, dismisses it by elucidating that this fear sense is just related to unfamiliarity with the mices since it never ever has been seen about the elephants which live in the zoo. This is due to the fact that they can remind the mices in the zoo and it does not give them the sense of strange object!
