The reading passage and listening are both about the pros and cons of producing ethanol fuel for using alternative to gasoline. The article strongly postulates that it is not an appropriate substitute for gasoline. On the other hand, The listening adamantly delineates that those author's points aren't plausible because of several compelling reasons.
First and foremost, According to the author of the excerpt that using ethanol fuel grow up global warming which is the most serious environmental issue nowadays. Furthermore, he asserts that they release a great deal of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere directly. Nonetheless, the professor in the lecture offsets these points by declaring that every plant of Earth absorb carbon dioxide for their nutritional process even it is true that ethanol sends out greenhouse gas so in general it is eliminated from the air thanks to plants basic needs.
On top of this, the professor elaborates by bringing up the point that they use cellulose which is mostly inedible plants to produce replacement source, thus it doesn't lead the animal to vanish significantly. these claims refute the author's indications about using a great amount of corn to create ethanol fuel takes away their essence food source from animals such as cows and chickens.
The text lastly insists that gasoline price are equally same as ethanol fuels in today because of the government's impose payments but if the officials stop this determination it is expected that the price of ethanol increase dramatically. The speaker in the lecture counter these implications by asserting that if the people use this alternative source instead of gasoline, the outcomes rise and it brings a reduction in its price. Moreover, people say that if it happens they price will drop out 40 percentage than before.
