The author considers some pieces of evidence which are known as a new breakthrough. The lecturer, however, refutes the claim about blood vessel by providing some other possible reasons which can be concluded from the discovery.
First, the reading mentions some tiny branching channels which are likely associated with the blood vessels. Nevertheless, the professor casts doubton /over the soft material in the bones. He believes that it is more probably that this soft matter remained due to the bacteria activity since after a creaturedeath, bacteria commence fossilizing the body and releasing a soft substance like the one founded in the hallow.
Second, according to a microscopic examination, there are some spheres that can be a part of red blood cell. On the contrary, the lecturer points out to the other researches which illustrate the primitive animals did not have blood cells. In addition, the red dark center may be caused by other material. For this reason, the origin of the substance may convert from other material like reddish mineral which has the same color.
Third, the presence of collagen can be translated into the fact that there was some kind of living bone tissue. On the other hand, the teacher thinks that it contradicts the previous studies which show that collagen cannot be existed beyond 100000 years ago. Compared with the 70-million-year-old fossil, there is a huge and noticeable gap between these discoveries. Hence, the source of this collagen is probably something else. For instance, collagen found in human’s skin can carry from the researcher’s skin, who handled the fossil, to the bone.
