The reading claims that some structures of bees nests were found in the state of Arizona indicates that bees were lived at 200-milion-years ago, but some skeptics were about the theory. The authors elaborates his skeptics in three main reasons. Nevertheless, the professor believes that it is perfectly possible that bees exist on the Earth as early as 200 milion years, and refutes each of the author's points.
First, the reading posits that no fossil remains ever have been found and earliest one is only about 100 milion years old. However, the professor refutes this concept by providing that no fossil doesn't mean no bees were, and she indicates that really rare condition need to preserve fossil such a sticky liquid resin from special tree; hence, didn't finding fossil is only because of the this tree only become avalible much later than 200 milion years.
Furthermore, the article avers that absence of flowering plants which only become from 120 milion years ago is powerful reason since bees and flowers have evolve a close relationship. On the other hand, the lecturer brings up the fact that it is true this kind of plant only avalible from 120 milion years ago but bees lived without them as some ancient bees could. Also, she states Fern and Pine trees which were really good adabtable source of foods for ancient bees.
Finally, the article asserts that some crucial structure of the bees nest like caps that have a spiral pattern were not in the Arizon't bees structure; so, fossilized structure must made by other insect. Contrary, the lecturer casts doubt on this claim by stating that although some evidence were true about it, but some chemical evidence which found on structure shows that exact water proof chemical substance used from these bees as modern bees use for water proofing and it perfectly illustrated that these insects must be kind of ancient bees.
