The chart below give the information about travel to and from UK and the most popular countries for UK residents to visit.
This report describes the number of people who visited UK by overseas and the number of people who visited abroad from the UK for 20 years.
Firstly, all over this period from 1979 to 1999, the UK residents who visited abroad were higher than the residents who visited UK. They were about 10 millions and 13 millions at 1979 for the UK residents who visited abroad and the residents who visited UK by overseas, respectively. After that, they increased gradually to be about 15 millions and 20 millions at 1986 and increased sharply to be about 28 millions and 52 millions for the UK tourists and the UK travelers, respectively.
From the second chart, we can observe that the most popular countries which were visited by the UK people at 1999. They were France, Spain, USA, Greece and Turkey. The most preferred country at the UK people was France which was determined to be about 11 millions. It was followed by Spain which it was about 9 millions.. After that, we can notice a sharp decrease in the number of UK residents who visited abroad who became approximately 4 millions in USA, 3 millions in Greece and were about 2 millions in Turkey which it was the lower popular country visited by the UK residents.
