There are many different types of music in the world today. Why do we need music? Is the traditional music of a country more important than the international music that is heard everywhere nowadays?

Recently, there are many several styles of music influence in the world. Listening music obtain inspirations that creative, innovative, and imaginative. Some people believe that traditional music Indonesia has typical which unique, artistic, and motivation. However, some another people prefer that traditional music Indonesia is vital for cannot ignore than international music of each country.

Generally, I think that traditional music Indonesia has many cultures and identities of the people as every province start from Sabang to Merauke has its own traditional music with their instruments and histories. For example, West Java province of Bandung has music traditional such as gamelan angklung. It is a musical instrument made of two bamboo tubes attached to a bamboo frame. The tubes are carves to have a resonant pitch when struck and tuned to octaves.

Gamelan angklung heard in Balinese temple, where it supplies musical accompaniment to temple anniversaries. It is also characteristic of rituals related to death, and therefore connected in Balinese culture to the invisible spiritual realm and transitions from life to death and beyond. Because of its portability, gamelan angklung might be carry in processions while a funeral bier is carried from temporary burial in a cemetery to the cremation site. The musicians often playing music to accompany the cremation ceremony, thus, many Balinese listeners associate angklung music with strong emotions evoking a combination of sacred sweetness and sadness.

Although traditional music Indonesia must be preserve and important to children, so that cannot destroy and totally disappeared. It makes societies proud of some achievement acquired by young people. For instance, angklung received the award of Museum Record of Indonesian, and then it has recognized by UNESCO as Indonesia’s culture heritage in 2010.

Music of traditional Indonesia is a symbol each country. It is shows history, belief and customary of nations. On other hand, Government must be aware and care of conserve, response so that keep opposite.
