The traditional lifestyle of developing countries has been attracting an increasing number of tourists, as a side effect this has been preventing the people in developing countries from adopting modern ways of living. Do you agree or disagree?

In contemporary society, there has been a wide spread skepticism in regards to international tourism. Many people insist on the view that retaining conventional ways of life is an obstacle to adopt the modern lifestyle in developing nations. As far as I am concerned, I do not agree with this contention, and I will justify my reasons below.

First of all, it is undoubtedly true that increasing people in the developing countries devote their life to traditional businesses in order to fulfill the increased demand from foreign tourists. By the fact that this is an effective way to preserve the local lifestyle, indeed, the more people learn about the traditional skills, the greater opportunity they could be inherited. Therefore, the conventional ways of life should be encouraged to be retained because they represent a country's cultural identity.

Secondly, international tourism actually expedites the economic prosperity of the local communities. For instance, job vacancies, new technologies and new management skills are all in the best interest of the local society. The indigenous people are capable to learn the cutting-edge technologies and more sophisticated management theories by attracting people from industrialized nations to travel to their regions. Consequently, in terms of adopting modernized lifestyle, encouraging tourism results in a positive impact rather than negative influence.

In conclusion, I concede that there is not necessary to worry about the improvement of people's life would be hindered by introducing tourism, to the contrary, tourism will not only help the developing countries preserve their culture but also stimulate the local economy.
