Your local council is considering closing a sports and leisure centre that it runs, in order to save money.
Write a letter to the local council. In your letter
1. give details of how you and your friends or family use the centre
2. explain why the sports and leisure centre is important for the local community
3. describe the possible effects on local people if the centre closes
Dear Sir or Madam,
I was informed by my friend that you intend to close a leisure centre to save your spending. I am writing this letter to suggest you to cancel your plan.
My friends and friends play sports and participate in a variety of leisure activities in this centre frequently. For instance, I prefer to play badminton in the sports centre and my friends are likely to go to the gym on weekends. Therefore, it is unquestionable that this sports centre plays an important role in relieving our pressure.
On the other hand, it is also crucial to the local residents. First of all, it is the only leisure place in this rural area. We must travel a long distance to the urbane area to do leisure activities if the centre closes. In addition, the centre is also considered as a indispensable part of the cultural legacy in this area, as it has been there for many years.
If you shut down the centre, it will result in a frenzy of our local people, as you action interfere with our lives. Furthermore, the image of local council will also be jeopardized and people will lose faith on you. In the light of such facts, you would be better to maintain the centre.
I hope that my suggestions will be of some assistance. If you require further information, you can contact me by email.
Your sincerely,
David Villa.
