Summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they challenge the specific points made in the read passage.

The reading article discusses about Robert E.Peary, who was a well-known adventurer and arctic explorer and in 1909 he reached the north pole. But, in the listening professor totally disagree with the article and provides three reasons for support.
First, of all in the reading article it states that the National Geographic Society formed a committee to conduct an investigation that whether he reached the north pole or not? Which at the end of the investigation proved by the committee that he reached. But, the professor completely disagrees with the statement by saying that as the committee is biased because mostly Peary friends are the part of it and they also funded him. She said that the investigation is just for two days which proves that records are not examined carefully. In fact, Peary was also not happy with the investigation.
Secondly, The article tells about the recent expedition and claims that he reached there in just 37 days just like a British explorer.Professor refutes this claim by saying that Avery carried less weight along with him and most of his food was dropped to him by an airplane and conditions are also conditions are favorable for him so we cannot compare these two.
Thirdly, the reading passage supports the peary journey by the evidence of the photograph which shown that he reached there which the professor contradict in this sense. She said that photographs were taken about 1000 years ago when the technology was not up to the mark and pictures were taken by the shadow of the sun and at that time cameras take the blurred pictures and they are so fluctuated. So, which cannot prove that they are taken at the north pole.
