It is more important to keep your old friends than it is to make new friends. Do you agree or disagree?
Friendship is one of most significant relationship in our life. And so friends play an important rule through our life. Some people think that making new friends are more important than keeping our old friend; others disagree. Personally, I believe that making new friend is not bad but it is more important to keep your old friends for two important reasons.
First, old friend know you better and keep your secrets. As these friends were the ones you grown up with and had a lot of fun. Sometimes we faced trouble and then found ways to get out from this trouble side by side. For example, one of my best old friends, Shereen, who lives in Egypt; she was my neighbor and went with me to the college. We still on touch till this moment even though I moved to the states 2 years ago. Sometimes we remember the wonderful time we spent with each other. I remembered one time when I faced a problem and how she stood beside me till the end of the problem. I couldn’t imagine my life without this caring friend and I always missed her a lot.
Second, making new friends is so hard. It takes a long time to know a new person and more and more to trust him or her. And sometimes after this long time, you may found this person is not the one you want. For instance, as I mentioned before, I moved to California 2 years ago and you know what? Till this moment I have problem to find new good friends. Although I know a lot of people, but I couldn’t find a friend who is similar to me, a friend who understand me and we can trust one another. May be I can find someone latter on but until now I keep on with all my old friends.
On conclusion, knowing new friends seems to be good but keeping your old ones is wonderful. Not only it is harder to find a trustful person but also old friends knew everything about you. Old friends always care about you and keep your secrets.
