College students should base their choice of a field of study oh the availability of jobs in that field.
College gives the graduation degree after the school. After spending three or four years in college, one look for the job oppurtunities in the market. But, does the choice of the course one pursue in college should depend upon the the number of the jobs available? This is what asked by the author here. The answer can not be yes. While deciding the course for the college, one must consider the criterion of the availability of the jobs in the market, but, there are other factors too which determine the choice for the course.
The interest of the student is the foremost factor which govern his field of study. A student bad in biology can not opt for the medical and paramedical courses. Because, interest incites the crave for the success.
The college studies consume the basic life time of a person's life, consuming three to four years of life. Undoubtedly, one should be attentive while deciding the field of study.
The job market can not be the criterion for all the students . Because, some of them think for the higher studies and then look for the job. And, there is a vast difference in the market in the gap of two or three years. Mass media, entertainment media, fashion courses and beauty courses are the examples which are growing very well. These courses were not known before five years. Now, the state government is opening the colleges for such programmes.
To sum it up i would say, availability of the jobs is not the only criterion for the selection of the college field. Since, it is the most important for the students for their career. The choice of field should be done after analysing the other important factors too.
