Please Review my Issue Essay "Does government funding arts affects it integrity"
Every country has its own arts which was evolved there, Government has to ensure that those arts does not get extinct. For every person, first priority is his bread and butter. Even though, he may be a master of that art but he cannot survive, if that art does not earn him enough money for his livelyhood. So only the Government can save them by providing enough funds or encouraging them by arranging some events for them.
For example, in India few villages are renowned for pot making. we must be very careful while making a pot, if not we have to start from the beginning once again. It requires a lot of training to make pots. Now a days many people do not prefer pots because they are breakable and many metal utensils are available in the market.
If this goes on these pot makers have to leave their prime occupation and have to do something else for their food, but Goverment can help them. Government can give them some money periodically to encourage them or they can buy pots in bulk orders and use it in government office. Water stored in pots, has medicinal value and during summer water stored in pots will be very cool, they can even avoid the usage of efridgerator. One more example is Silambam, an old martial arts which also has its origin in India, is about to get extinct because many are not aware of the speciality of that martial arts. Government can help them, by creating awareness about the arts to students and encourage them to learn it so that, they can help the person who has mastered that art for his livelyhood as well as students will get benefited.
But the biggest question is, does funding the arts affects its integrity, It depends on the Government, they must not encourage the arts which they like or in general they must not be prejudiced. Government can actually decide which arts to provide financial support based on the Income the persons get, for example there are certain arts which people are interested to learn, person who has mastered that art can survive, but that may not be the case for some arts, hence that art has to be supported by the Government.
Summing it up, Government must ensure that, arts evolved in their country does not get extinct and giving them proper support to develop, without being prejudiced.
