A couple of days ago you have moved into a new house and there has been a damage. Write a letter to your landlord informing him about it
Dear landlord,
a couple of days ago I have moved to the house in Crescent street number 59. Unfortunately, the heater in the living room is not working properly. I tried to switch it on and off several times, however there seems to be a problem with it. On the other side the heating system in the rest of the house seems to be working, but not very efficient. I guess we will have to get the whole system checked and repaired.
My best friend has got a lot of knowledge about heating systems. I informed him about the problem and he offered to have a look on it. He is not professional though, so it is up to your discretion whether you want to accept his service.
ALternatively, I contacted the manufacturer and they informed me about their procedure. In order to be able to proceed with the inspection, we will definitely need your authorisation and signature as well. They can not inform us about any costs at the moment, as these depend on the amount of work and the level of damage. Who is actually supposed to cover this cost? Is it the landlord or the tenant? I hope it will not be too expensive, as I am just running short of money.
Do you have any other suggestions how to repair this defect? Have you had any problems previously with the heating system at this house?
I would appreciate if we can proceed quickly with that, as the temperatures are now starting to go down and I am afraid that my young baby gets ill.
I will be waiting for your reply. Please contact me as soon as you can on this phone number: +44 758 3115252.
Many thanks for your help.
Kind regards
Mr. J. Austin
