Some governments try to control the way a national language is used. For example they may restrict the introduction of foreign words, or the use of dialects, or they may demand that a certain language be used in schools. What are the benefits and disadvantages of these policies? Do you think they can ever be effective?
In this world, there is having many languages. Even one country, there are a lot different dialects and unique ways to communicate. As we know, we learn language when childhood and we use until now. When we learn language, we also learn grammar, spelling, and pronunciation.
It can be argue that language is one characteristic of the country and as part of culture. Every citizen in the country uses one national language. Therefore, it is easier to communicate with each other. And so there is necessary to confine use a foreign language and change in pronunciation. However, the foreign language helps the country to fix international environment. These policies limit the opportunity to develop of the country.
While it is important to keep national language, there may be an argument favour of learning foreign language because in globalization it is necessary to be able to survive in the jobs. For example, if we could speak English frequently we will have a better chance to get a job because English is the universal language. But still should not be deviated from the culture in the country. And a school is the best place to start this. In school we not only study a national language but also study a foreign language correctly.
Ultimately, the government will not to restrict a language and the policies become ineffective because languages are natural and they are used for communication. It is quite difficult to control what people say at home and what they teach for their children.
