The table reveals the source percentage of student income within a ten-year period in the United Kingdom.
In general, it can be seen that the total income per student mostly show a steady increase started from 1988/89 to 1998/99, although it merely had a slight decline in 1992/93.
In 1988/89 and 1992/93, the biggest source was from the grant. At the same time, students were not interested to have a loan, showed by the lowest given percentage. Then, in the academic years of 1995/96 and 1998/99, a number of grantees decreased gradually. The fall percentage was about 40%. As a result, other source was the highest income source used by the students.
Interestingly, student loan percentages were getting bigger steadily. On contrast, other sources, paternal contribution, grant, and earnings showed fluctuation in the percentages within ten year. The academic year of 1992/93 experienced lower total income per student than in 1988/89
Overall, it can be concluded that the student total income mostly increased gradually from 1998/89 to 1998/99.
