Integrated essay regarding ethanol fuel
The reading passage and the lecture both discuss the ethanol fuel. The author claims that the ethanol fuel can be a proper alternative to gasoline. On the other hand the lecture casts a shadow of doubt on what the author states in light of some reasons.
First off, the contention of the author regarding ethanol fuel will not solve the global warming problem, is reviewed by the lecture that states ethanol fuel releases carbon dioxide like gasoline, on the contrary ethanol fuel is made from plants which can absorb carbon dioxide as a result of their natural mechanism.
Second, the author’s point of view concerning reducing the animal sources of food on account of increasing production of ethanol fuel is refuted by the lecture based upon the fact that a special part of each plant which is not eaten by the animal can be used to produce ethanol fuel.
Third, what the author mentions on the subject of ethanol fuel will not be able to compete with gasoline on price is declined by the lecture which claims that the extending consumption of ethanol fuel can decrease its price
