The professor explains three clear arguments opposing the points stated in the reading passage about the solutions that can present in order to prevent birds' damages when they perceive glass as open air.
First, although reading claims that using one-way glasses can prevent birds hit to glass, professor argues that it would have as negative effect as clear glass because one-way glass can acts as mirror and reflects light and outdoor picture which may cause birds not to distinguish between fake pictures and reality. Thus, this solutions was rejected by mentioned explanations.
Second, the reading passage states that painting colorful lines or other art designs on regular windows can act as obstacle to birds which led them not perceive glass as open air. Nevertheless, the professor draws attention to the fact that birds might perceive these strips and designs as open wholes and try to fly through them, therefore, the problem of hitting to clear glass is exist. Furthermore, despite the idea of reading, which states that people can see out, professor believes that punting windows and glasses can make inside of building too dark for residents.
Third and last, the reading passage asserts that glasses can be equipped to magnetic field which is able to guide birds to more safer paths. However, the professor disproves the idea due to the fact that birds use their inner magnetic compass only when travel long distances such as moving from cold to warmer places and they don't use it in shorter destinations. Instead, they use sun light and their eyes in such short distances; thus, this solution is not effective either.
In summary, the professor have went totally against the solutions presented in the reading passage. It states that scientist should hold more researches to find appropriate ways to cope with this problem.
