In many countries young people don’t choose the teaching profession. What do you think is the reason? What could be done to attract more students?
In each society teachers play an important role in educating and training the next generation. Although it’s a great and valuable job, everyday less people are interested in choosing it as their profession. There are some reasons for this issue which are discussed here.
Nowadays, people try to find jobs which are in high range of salary. Moreover, they prefer to have occupations with less responsibility and stress. But as everyone knows, being a teacher has lots of responsibilities. Besides, it’s a challenging work because teachers face different children with various characters and they have to deal with them and train them at the same time. Teachers should behave in a way that attract children to school and studying. In one word, children’s behavior and training at school is a burden on teachers’ shoulders. Another reason that young people don’t choose this occupation is that young people are not patient enough to tolerate the children’s’ bad behavior such as telling lie, avoid doing their homework and disobeying their teachers. On top of all these reasons, young people believe that teaching is a repeated work with no promotion. These are the facts for making young people reluctant on choosing it as a job.
By raising teachers’ salaries we can make this profession more appealing to young people. Moreover, government and the society should be more respectful to teachers and they should allocate more welfare to this group of people.
To conclude, we can never ignore the significant role of teachers in training children. Unfortunately there are few experts in this field and government should think up new ideas in attracting young people for this profession.
