Some people think that parents should teach children how to be good members of society. Others, believe that school is the place to learn this.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
Children are our future, so we must pay great attention to the process of bringing them up. Nowadays whether the family must be in charge of this responsibility or it has to belong to schools has triggered a controversial debate. In this essay I am going to elaborate both views and endeavor to draw a conclusion.
To begin with, I want to emphasize the role of the family on child’s behavior and psychology. Firstly, children are surrounded by their parents since they are born so that, the impact of the family is almost unquestionable. Meanwhile, the family not only helps to form children’s character but also acts as an example for them.
In addition, the role of schools is also undeniable, precisely, at the school atmosphere children gain knowledge which leads them to be more skillful, knowledgeable and intelligent, also opens new opportunities to keep up with the demands of the modern world. Moreover, from the enlightened point of view schools provide a chance to learn how to work cooperatively in the groups.
Nevertheless, to my mind we cannot absolutely split the roles of the schools and families due to the fact that the effective results can only be acquired when both of them affect children’s personality during the childhood.
To sum it up, taking into account all the reasons mentioned above, I want to claim that although it seems that the role of the family is significantly stronger than the schools it will not be honest to deny completely the importance of schools. Therefore, in my opinion, the best solution is to engage both the parents and the school staff in the whole process.
