The line chart illustrates the amount of grumbles of Newtown’s citizens about clamour created by the four different activities from 1980 to 1996. Overall, there was only the number of complaints created by road work activities that decreased significantly over the period of 16 years, in contrast, the amount of grumbles about domestic and household noises increased rapidly from 1980 to 1996.
First of all, the number of grumbles about road work clamour started at over 600 times in 1980, this number was highest when comparing with the other three origin of noises in that year. After this starting, this amount reduced considerably and ended at approximately 70 times in 1996. Besides that change, roughly three times as many the number of grumbles made by domestic and household noises in 1986 (400 times) as in 1996 ( 1200 times). According to this considerable increase, domestic and household doings were the activities which were complained the most in Newtown. Finally, from the graph, the number of grumbles about factories’ clamour was 400 times in 1980, after this, it rose slightly to over 700 times in 1986 and that was higher than other three types. Then, the number of this type of clamour leveled out at 700 times between 1986 and 1996.
