The graph below shows the contribution of three sectors -agriculture, manufacturing, and business and financial services-to the UK economy in the twentieth century. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The bar chart provides information about the contribution agriculture, manufacturing , and business and financial services made to the economy of UK in from 1900 to 2000.
It is clear that there was a substantial rise in the contribution of business and financial services in the period shown. By contrast, manufacturing was characterized by a noticeable decline between 1990 and 2000.
In 1900, agriculture made the most considerable contribution to the economy of UK with approximately 50% while manufacturing accounted for a smaller percentage , at around 45% , and the lowest figure of just about 3% belonged to business and financial services. The same trend was seen in 1950 where agriculture reached a peak of approximately 55%, the highest figure in the period shown, and started to fall significantly since then.
In 2000, the contrast trend was clearly shown in three sectors where business and financial services hit the peak of 30% doubling the contribution of manufacturing ( 15%), and agriculture reached the lowest figure of roughly around 3%.
