Essay topics: You are an employee in an office, working on one big project together with your colleagues. Write a letter to your manager to inform him/her that some of the employees make mistakes that affect your work. In your letter say
- What mistakes have you encountered so far?
- Explain that others employees complained about the same mistakes.
- Suggest a solution to solve this problem
Dear Mr. Smith,
I am writing to inform you that one of my colleagues has a negative influence on my work and the overall development of the project.
Maria Crank who is responsible for statistics and calculations in the project is always out of schedule, when her part is needed it is always unfinished or done poorly. Moreover, her calculations are often erroneous and I simply cannot be trusted; so, I must check them each time.
Furthermore, other co-workers who participate to the project have similar complaints about Maria as well. In fact, Mark had to spend both weekends working in the office because of her mistake with statistics. Furthermore, she frequently takes several sick days in a row and in order to stay in the schedule we have to share her part among us. That really slows us down.
I have a reason to think that she may be dangerous for the success of the project and replacing her with Tim Cook from the sales department will solve the problem. Tim has already worked in several big projects and has proven himself as reliable and smart employee. If Tim cannot participate to our team, her part may be given to outsourcers. There is a well-known internet firm that provides businesses with such services. If you are interested, I may conduct a small research about conditions on which the firm is working.
Sincerely yours,
Eugene Dubinchuk.
