The given graph illustrates how many books people read at Burnaby public library during the period between 2011 and 2014.
Overall, throughout the surveyed period, men tended to read more and more books each year. Meanwhile, the number of books read by their female counterparts suffered in a downward trend.
In 2011, men had read around 3000 books. Then the figure rose slightly by 1000 in 2012. Whereas during the same period, the number of books women read increased more sharply by 3000 from 5000 to 8000 in 2012. However in just 1 year later, the male books number soared steeply by 6000 to reach the figure of 10000 in 2013. At the same time, women continued to read steadily and also reached the same figure as men's in 2013.
In the last period, from 2013 to 2014, there were 2 different trends between the 2 sexes. While men read increasingly and finally came to the number of 14000 books at the end of the surveyed period, the number of books read by women declined gradually back to the same number as the year 2012.
