As a matter of fact, I don’t concur with this statement because if the society the individuals live in is a one with higher standards of human development, the greatness of an outstanding person is automatically recognized throughout his or her existence. In a developed society significant attempts made into placing value to mankind’s achievements; thus, they do not try to postpone the acknowledgement of their acclaimed figures until they pass away.
In contemporary time there are many incidents that illustrate how in a particular community accomplishments of distinguished people are respected. Sir Alex Ferguson, a successful manager of the Manchester City football club, could be an obvious example to see how in the UK the club pay homage to his endeavors throughout his professional career in the club for 26 years by erecting his statue in front of the team’ stadium to signify that his work for the club has been remarkably understood. Such actions may serve as a model for the other portions in a society in different forms as it helps the community to realize that no remarkable perseverance would be ignored.
On contrary, in undeveloped society we, unfortunately, observe how many leading people have been unable to make further progressions due to numerous barriers so that they never recognized during their lives but after they left this worldly universe. One of the Kurdish brilliant writer and poem named Sharafkandy with the nickname Hazhar, means poor, was never acknowledged during his career; he had to spend most of his valuable life career looking for sustenance. If his greatness was identified by his society and aided, then he could produce more books and products for his prospect generations.
In conclusion, the distinguishing of greatness of prominent figures has nothing to do with the time they live in or the time after their deaths; however, it is the issue of to what degree a particular society is developed in terms of humanitarian determinants. If a society place high value upon its distinguished individuals then the value of them recognized during their existence and be highlighted after their deaths, while in undeveloped communities the story is vice versa.
