First, people from 65 - or- over years old group in USA only took nearly one tenth of that country's population. In 40 years, from 1940 to 1980, the propotion seemed to rise gradually to 15 percent. From 1980 to 2040, USA is predicted to see another up trend from the figure which it likely to stay at round 23 percent.
Similar to the graph of USA is Sweden, the data of this country also followed the trend in the first 40 years which grew steadily from 7 percent to 14 percent. However, from 1980 to nowadays, the numbers seemed to flunctuate and in 2040 it is shown that the data will end up at 25 percent. On the other hand, the data of Japan was back and forth from 1940 to nowadays but still stay at 5 percent as the same in the beginning. But from then to 2040, there would be an outburst of people at 65 or over years old. This will lead to a significant jump from 5 percent to 27 percent at the end of the timeframe.
