As shown in the information registered in 2012, cameras were in the dominant position in British consumer market. In fact, the British spent a staggering 170,000 pounds on cameras, exceeding its counterpart in Belgium, which saw the demand at 145,000 pounds. Likewise, the distinctions in toys and books between these two countries were in line with that of cameras, whereby its British figures standing at over 165,000 and over 160,000 in toys and books respectively. By contrast, both Spain and Austria witnessed a demand overtaking Belgium in both books, toys and cameras, despite the fact that they were surpassed by Britain.
In stark contrast, a different pattern was found in the remaining categories in 2012. In comparison to other countries, Britain saw the highest demand in cosmetics, outdoor game accessories and console games, while Austria invariably positioned at the bottom.
Overall, among these six categories, the British generally spent more than its peer countries in 2012.
