The diagram below shows how a solar powered water pump works. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The image describes the working of the water pump powered by the energy obtained from the sun.
Process of extracting water from the underground bore or well starts by collecting solar energy from the sun. The massive heat or energy generated from the sun gets stored using solar panel. It consists of photovoltaic cells which consumes the solar energy and converts it into direct current. The pole withstanding solar panel is dug below the ground level and the panel facing the sun.
The DC power generated from the panel is linked to the bore pump located inside the underground bore or well. Water level in the well is higher than the bore pump. The current attached with the bore pump allows water to pump out and stored it into the water tank through a pipe. This water tank delivers water to the whole village.
Overall, it can be seen that the whole process of working of water pump with the help of solar energy takes mainly three steps, first one is to generate DC power through solar panel then, pumping out the water from the bore or well storing it into the water tank and then supplying the water to the whole village.
