The passage concerns about declining population of frogs and therefore provides three solution for this decline to be stopped. On the other hand the lecturer, points out that these solutions are not practical and she further expresses her counterclaims to support her idea.
First, the passage mentions that one of the main reasons for frog population decline is pesticde usage in the nearby farms. Hence auther proposes pecticede usage prohobition in farms which are near the frogs' habitats. In contray, the lecturer underlines the fact that pesticide prohobition is not economical and fair due to decrease in farmers' yield in crops and competing potential.
Second, the passage counts fungus as a major criteria in the frogs' population decline and consequently proposes large scale treatment of funges in frogs' population. Conversly, the lecturer mentions that this treatment must be applied individualy and hence, it will be too difficult and expensive. Additionally the lecturer reminds that this treatment is not a permenent cure which means it must also be further applied for next generations.
Finally, the solution of water supplies preservation which is proposed by passage to decrease the population decline pace is also refuted by lecturer. She brings up the idea that the main threat and cause for decline of frogs' watery habitats is not human activities but is global warming. Consequently she mentions that global warming is the major factor in frogs' habitat decrease and it happens anyway.
