Some employees want to be able to contact their staff all the times, even on holidays.
Does this development have advantages than disadvantages?
Work Pressure on employees is continuously Increasing. These days it has become common practice in many organisation to approach there workers or employees even on non- working day. Although, people have different thoughts about this working culture, but I completely believe that this practice has more drawbacks than benefits.
The predominant reason for me to assert that contacting employees on holiday is not a positive approach is effect on work life balance. All the people around the world are working hard in order to maintain good life style and to fulfill the basic requirement of their family members. If they are not allowed to spend their spare time with their family and friends they will remain disturbed, because the main aim of doing all the hard work will be missing. Ultimately, it will have adverse effect on the employee's productivity. In addition, they will try to find another job and company will loss there skilled and trained worker. Hence, the over all profit of the organisation will decline.
Another reason is loss of goodwill among public. If proper corporate culture is not maintained, professional and skilled labour will not be interested in joining the company, and there will be shortage of qualified people. Training and recruitment expenses of the firm will increase. Apart for this because of this negative image people will start to withdraw their money and share price will decline in long run. Expansion is far survival of the organisation in the present product line will be difficult. May be in short run profits will increase, but by forcing the staff to involve in office works during holidays future will be in dark.
In conclusion, disturbing the staff on holidays is a ill practice as it will cost the company to loss its talented and capable work force. Maintaining proper corporate work culture is extremely essential for the success of the organisation.
