TPO-43 - Integrated Writing Task
In this set materials, the reading passage state that some theories about how Agnostics may have lived. On the other hand, the listening section brings into question the reading points by providing different reasons (and examples).
First of all, the reading passage indicates that the agnostids were free-swimming predators and they cathed the smaller animals as food. In contrast, the lecturer opposes this view my mentioning that free-swimming predators have large eyes, for seeing pray, because vision is an important ability for animals to be a predator. But, the fossil of this animal shows that the genocides had small tiny eyes and some time they were blind. Also, they must have another organ to recognize the pray. But, the fossils of the Agnostics do not show this organ. Hence, they could not belong to a group of free-swimming predators.
Second, the reading argues that the agnostics were lived at seafloor; conversely, what the speaker believes is different. She points out that the animals which live in the seafloor, they could not move fast and travelling long distance. However, the agnostids were lived all over the world, and they had multiple places for living. Also, they moved pretty fast for travelling long distance.
Finally, although the passage says that agnostics may have been parasites because a large number of modern-day anthropods are parasites, the speaker disagrees by mentioning that the population of parasitic could not be very large because if they become expanded, their host animal may become extinct. But the fossil records show that agnostics had a large population which could reject the theory of being parasites.
