Group thinking
The reading and lecture both discusses the group-think, While the reading focus on its advantages but the lecture casts its implications by pointing out the several disadvantages.
First of all, the author suggests that the people can arrive superior decisions in a group which they cannot do so if they are doing same job individually. The lecturer, however, argues that one member can dominate the group and confirm his decision solely. He also focuses that each individual trying to confirms each other on their own decision and there may be some kind of disagreements between the members. He states that if somebody made objections on group decisions, there is the chance of rejection.
Secondly, the writer contends that employee takes more responsibility and there is also exchange of diverse knowledge when they work in group. The lecturer, on the other hand, rebuts this by mentioning that the employee are vulnerable of decisions. He mentions that, when they performs the duty independently, the lack of confidence might invite the bad consequences, He elaborates this point by providing the escaped prisoner.
At last, the the reading avers that when people worked in group, each individual encouraged other and everybody benefited. The lecturer however, challenges this by providing that the example that how the ford motor company have bankrupted when they are depend on the group decisions. He states that ford motor company have been bankrupted because of marketing disaster caused by the group decision making.
