Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The maps illustrate the alterations that took place at West Park Secondary School during a 60-year period from 1950 to 2010.
It is noticeable from the map that the biggest change was the construction of a car park. Additionally, houses and farmland had completely disappeared by 2010.
In 1950, the school was relatively small, and it was situated in the south area of the main road. There were houses to the northwest of the road, however, they were demolished to make way for the car park and science block in 1980. At the same time, sports field was built in the place where a farmland used to be while the playground remained unchanged in size and position.
From 1980 to 2010, the car park witnessed a great extension while science block and the school still remained close to the main road. Meanwhile, sports field was narrowed significantly and the playground also became smaller over the period of 30 years.
