The reading and the lecture are both about the four-day workweek, which is willing to accept less pay. The author of the reading believes four-day week will benefit companies. But in the lecture, the professor holds a totally different view that no one will be advantageous four-day workweek.
First, the passage says that reducing workweek leads to increased corporate profits. On the other hand, increasing employees' rest time reduces their errors, however the lecture point out that four-day workweek will lead to a lot of spending money especially on training and medical health.
Second, the passage climes that the four-day workweek reduces unemployment rates. The lecture refutes the idea company. Hiring a new job is costly for companies, and they use five-day workweek employees. Hence, companies do not add new jobs
Third, the passage suggests that improve the quality of individual employees, and provided leisure time their families. The lecture argues against the passage. Free time leads to lower quality of personal life and increased risk of individual lives because this can lead to the risk of losing the job to economic downtown.
