The graph below shows the consumption of 3 spreads from 1981 to 2007.
The poly line graph illustrates the information about the consumption of three kinds spreads ( margarine, low-fat & reduced spreads and butter ) which were eaten in previous 26 years during 1981 to 2007. Quantity were measured in grams.
In overall, butter constituted a major spread of consumption in first time periods; whereas, it was dramatically decreased at last periods of time. However, there were steady increases were found in low-fat & reduced spreads in last years.
With regards, the consumption of butter accounted at over 140 in 1981 and reached at peak with nearly 160 grams during 1986; whilst, it was dramatically declined at over 40 in remained time periods. Likewise, margarine was second most popular spread for eating from 1981 to 1996 and it noticed over 80 to 100. Interestingly, it was remained relatively constant between 1991 to 1996 at 100 grams after that it shown a slightly falling trend.
The graph further prove that consumption of low-fat & reduced spreads was neglected at first one decade ( 1981 to 1991). In addition to this, the consumption of low-fat & reduced spreads was started from 1996 at approximately 5 grams. Apart from that, an increased of over 80 can observed in the consumption of low-fat & reduced spreads from 2001. Lastly, in 2007, consumption of low-fat & reduced spreads declined at nearly 60.
