American wood companies are interests to obtain international Eco-certifications.
The article talks about if the american wood companies are interested or not in to obtain international eco-certifications. The writer states that exit a low probability that those corporations are attracted to get these certifications. however, the professor says that, unlike that many people think, that could be appealing for american companies and refutes each reason presented, casting doubts in the author’s beliefs.
Firstly, the reading points out that the individuals in the USA are bombed with uncountable advertisements all the time, and consequently, they do not pay attention to those stickers. Notwithstanding, the orator disproves this point by saying that the american costumers differentiate between the different indicators. Furthermore, they have special considerations toward international certifications and independent agencies, which have an elevated prestige among the american costumers.
Secondly, the writer argues that the high cost of those eco-certifications could act as a demotivator for american costumers, which are moved primarily by the price. Nonetheless, the lecturer contradicts this point ,noticing that is true that the price is an important incentive for them, but when the price is in the range of the 5 percent, they check others characteristic of the product like certifications, because they are aware about the necessity to take care fo the enviromenment.
Finally, the writer remarks that do not to get these certifications is valuable for american companies, owing to they sell the majority of their products inside the country. however, the lecturer deftly points out the weakness of this point saying that, the essential in not where the products are sold, but the competitions that they could face from foreign companies which are offering certified products.
