Anyone can make things bigger and more complex. What requires real effort and courage is to move in the opposite direction---in other words, to make things as simple as possible
In a modern digital world, there are far more choice for us to make every day than the condition decade ago. The speaker board assert that those what we treat as huge and complicated are actually easier to handle than small or even slight things including what we consider as daily stuffs. Whether we need more effort and courage when facing the latter one? Although it is true that big things may have larger influence on our world, I mostly agree the speakers assertion. Also, additionally, the definition of big and small, in my opinion, is not immutally exclusive,
We normally consider big things including those long-term scientific research or multinational industries as super tough that normal people without deep vocational training can directly handle that. For example, scientific invention in medical fields always need experts who master this area and a variety number of different equipment before setting. Before these experts introduce any new medicine which can cure any incurable disease previously, there would absolutely be thousand of failure and sometimes year long research. In that case, we have to admit that normally pharmancy companies are extremely profitable because while they enjoy the revenue, they also put themselves into a risk condition when they do not know whether new funding can be useful or not. Governments also tend to fund these companies since they also hold a sense of social responsibility.
However, this does not mean that big things are always superior to tiny stuffs. Somethings it is even easier for these famous political leaders, scientists, entrepreneurs to make decision because they only need to wield their power to lead a roughly direction for their inferior people according to statistic data. It is relative easy for these elites who has experience and knowledge from prestigious universities, as well as complementing by their colleagues. However, when normal workers or students face competitive works, they have to put these things under careful scrutiny before moving forward. In spite of the advent of assembly lines or other industrial machines, most workers nowadays still need to assemble components by hand and they cannot make any fault. Under high pressure, they need to make more effort on their work.
Finally, I have to say when a certain thing is moving forward and making progress, we cannot just consider it as big or small. It is too obscure because behind the success, there is the effort of a big team. Now all tasks are more difficult than centuries ago, so almost it is impossible for someone to handle them be himself or herself and no one would deny the essential of cooperation or we say ‘team work’. In a term, both leaders who handle well-rounded decision and workers who make imagination into reality are equal important so it is hard for us to define which part hold much more risk or need better acceptable personality. For instance, big international technological companies including apple or microsoft have thousands of employees. Some of them target at innovation and theoretical work, while others may stay in the warehouse. Before apple really release the newest model of phone, all these employees should be treated equally,
