The below chart gives information the data of immigration, emigration and net migration in UK between 1999 and 2008.
summarize the chart at least 150 words.
The chart presents data regarding international migration status in the UK between 1999 and 2008.
Overall, it is clear that immigration and emigration figures followed a quite similar pattern, and there were always more migrants coming to the UK than the emigrants, making the country's net migration generally increased during the period.
The number of immigrants steadily rose from roughly 460 thousand people in 1999 to around over 500 thousand in 2003. However, there was a sudden climb to a peak of approximately 600 thousand immigrants in 2004, and the immigration then kept fluctuating stably around that number towards the period end. Emigration data seemed to follow an alike trend, except from a drastic drop in 2007 before a sharp rise later on and having no sudden high in 2004. It appeared that net immigration would reflect the immigration pattern in the early half period. The net immigration was quite stable from the beginning to 2003 around 160, 170 thousand but dramatically increased to roughly 250 thousand people in 2004, before leveling off two years later. There was a subsequent rise to around 230 thousand in net immigration according to the decline in emigration number in 2007, followed by a remarkable drop when the emigrants suddenly rose back again.
